20. Steve Irwin
Steve Irwin was known as the Crocodile Hunter, but it was another animal that did him in after all. He was killed in 2006 by a sting ray that pierced his chest while he was out snorkeling in Australia. The Australian wild life enthusiast was filming another one of his popular television series. This one was called Ocean’s Deadliest, a new documentary that he was planning.
He went into some shallow waters and saw a sting ray that was huge. It was literally eight feet wide. The fish reacted to Irwin as if he was a shark that was attacking it and hit him several times with its tail spine and killed him.
At first, it seemed that Irwin only had a punctured lung, however, his heart was pierced as well and he eventually bled to death. He was pronounced dead on the scene. However, this was probably the way that he wanted to go. Even though he was too young, only 44, and left a great family behind, Irwin probably always knew that these dangerous stunts would be the end of him.
He was a very beloved personality, because he never hurt any animals. He only showed them in an up close and personal way and risked his life many times to allow people to see how these dangerous animals live.
