Everyone probably remembers classic Hollywood actress from Rebel Without a Cause. While she was filming her last movie, Brainstorm, the star died in a boating accident. She was sailing on a boat off the coast of California. She ended up falling overboard and drowning.

Police ruled that it was an accidental drowning. Wood had been intoxicated at the time and according to police reports, she had consumed as many as eight glasses of wine that night. There were other celebrities on the boat with her, one of them being Christopher Walken, who was her co-star in Brainstorm. Her husband Robert Wagner and the boat captain were the only other people on the boat.

Even though it was obvious that she was drunk and that she drowned, her death is still very mysterious, since no one knows how she ended up in the water. No one saw her fall over and her body was not discovered until the next morning when it washed up about a mile from where the boat was.

Even though no one was ever convicted of any crime, her cause of death was later changed from accidental drowning to drowning and other undetermined factors.
