The host of The View and the star of Sister Act, Ghost and, of course, The Color Purple is actually one of the celebrities who have been the most vocal about their habit and the way they kicked it. Whoopi smoked in many of her movies, at least back in the 1980s and the early 1990s before smoking was banned from the big screen, so we know she must have been a pretty regular, if not heavy smoker.
After years of smoking, Goldberg finally decided to call it quits in 2012. She also decided to chronicle the entire journey on her social media pages so her fans might learn from her experience. Her suggested method was not to go cold turkey, because that comes with a risk of a relapse, but to decrease the cigarettes gradually, starting from ten a week and then cutting down to zero. She said that that she doesn’t miss cigarettes not one bit.
